Stories for a Cure

Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women in the US other than skin cancer. Slated for release in late 2008, a new coffee table book of inspiring stories of breast cancer survivors is seeking submissions.

Emeht, the award winning team behind Theme Magazine, has teamed up with Los Angeles based Privacy Clothing, a company that uses a portion of its annual revenue to help underprivileged women get mammograms and to aid in breast cancer research, to create a coffee-table book that will share motivational stories of breast cancer survivors of women in creative industries. The book will be a collection of personal stories and photos, and serve as both inspiration and as an educational resource.

The project is seeking submission from women in creative fields who have beat breast cancer. If you would like to share your story, email SurvivorStories@thememagazine.com with your Name, Age, Occupation/Industry, Email, Phone, and Website, with a short summary of your story (less than 200 words) and a photo of yourself.

The book will be released in October for National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and distributed through Privacy’s breast cancer education network.

The deadline for submissions is March 14th, 2008.
