With the closing of Coney Island’s Astroland scheduled at the end of this summer (or maybe next depending on the speed of the project), making room for new real estate developments, this might very well be the last time you’ll have to partake in the Siren Music Festival.
This free, all-day, all-ages music festival features live international, national, local bands and DJs performing on two outdoor stages in historic Coney Island. Now in its seventh year, Village Voice Siren Music Festival has solidified its status as one of the top leading outdoor music festivals by drawing over 100,000 music fans in each of its last four years.
Last year’s acts such as Scissor Sisters, She Wants Revenge, and the Misshapes drew a hip and diverse crowd of music lovers. Some of the talent scheduled to perform at this year’s fest include M.I.A., Cursive, New York Dolls, We Are Scientists, and Matt and Kim. The event is set for Saturday, July 21, 12-9pm, at Coney Island, NYC.
