The dreamy delicacy of Mine makes us crave spring picnics, breezy roof-top parties, and the playful clothes that can take us from one to the other.
Starting with a story, London-based designer Katherine Pont develops her fairytale collections using her signature hand drawings to embellish a vintage yet functional femininity. The Spring/Summer 2008 collection is inspired by a paper doll that comes to life, and the nightwear-inspired play clothes have leapt off the page. The high-waisted bloomers are a sweet update to last summer’s skyscraper jeans, and the laser-cut details on the red camisole are a charming contrast to the menswear suspenders on the black skirt.
With an indie following including Natasha Khan of Bat for Lashes and Au Revoir Simone, Mine will at least let us dress like our childhood dreams have come true.
