GouMada by SSUR has launched their website just as the collection becomes available at the SSUR PLUS store in Soho.
In 2007 SSUR launched its ladies collection GouMada, (orig: southern Italian slang meaning “mistress”) a high end women’s streetwear line with luxury and elegance as its principles. It was available only in Japan and a few select shops in the US but quickly established itself in the world of women’s streetwear. For Spring/Summer ‘08, graphic driven pieces include our favorite “Nympho” (you know you are!) and “Ain’t Nothing But A G Thang” tees along with zip hoodie versions. All designs are cut & sewn and made in Japan meaning the quality of goods is extraordinary! We’re also anticipating GouMada’s Fall collection of military inspired floral print jackets and pants and intarsia sweaters.
Founder Ruslan Karablin started designing tee shirts in 1989 to promote his artwork. His art and design have become a phenomenon in the world of streetwear through the men’s SSUR brand which includes apparel and accessories and 2 stand alone shops in New York and Tokyo. SSUR has also collaborated on several notable projects with brands such as DC Shoes and Boosted Mobile.
