Chronicles of Never was born in 2006 from a whimsical desire to design with different mediums and new shapes. The medium was dark metals and the shapes took the form of jewelry. The unisex collection of necklaces, bracelets and rings sculpted from real and old materials: black, brushed silver, and blackened silver (you won’t find polished or shiny metals here…) are now joined by the first collection of dark, romantic clothing.
Former founding designer of Ksubi, Gareth Moody introduces his solo 2008 clothing collection “Water Will Burn” as a very mystical journey, his inspirations pulled from space within space, architecture, manga, industrial materials, neo-ism, cubism. “As far as becoming a designer…I create things, that’s all, and this process happens to involve design. My education came through trial and error, and continues to…Prior to Ksubi I was a gypsy”, states the Sydney, Australia native.
This season Moody teamed up with his close friend Marvin Scott Jarrett (Editor-in-Chief of our beloved NYLON magazine) to create shapes, cuts and colors with the feel of modern witchcraft. Low “diamond” crotch knit pants, cotton double wrap scarves, and cryptic graphics on tees are contained within the dark color story. Romantic but doomed.
We can’t wait to get our hands on some!
