Alchemist’s Accoutrements

Alchemy’s new collection of unisex scarves, sashes and pochettes draws inspiration from 19th century iron works using dandy, gothic-like design elements.

Established in 2007, Alchemy is a specialized design firm that takes an innovative twist on old New York style with pieces that are handcrafted in Como, Italy. Alchemy’s textile designers and partners April Renee Graves and Jessica Luciana Zunic met when they crossed career paths in New York City and saw their joint potential. While their experiences and styles varied greatly, the combination of one’s European aesthetics with the other’s edgy and graphic nature create a unique look and style.

Beyond initial glance, intricate patterns of vintage keys and padlocks, shields, swords and daggers divulge hidden objects. Eagles create a houndstooth effect while small sparrows flock to create medallions complimenting other classic elements such as paisleys, mono-colored leaf patterns and baroque florals. In a more simple style, a large printed dagger covers the full length of a scarf.

Alchemy is available at Lola y Maria.
