For those of you who make your regular rounds on Rivington Street, there’s a new spot across the way that will satisfy the girl in you. I first checked out Honey in the Rough when the store opened back in December. I popped my head in when I noticed a dress from one of my favorite new lines, CastleStarr, hanging in the window.
Let’s make one thing clear – I may rock sneakers and boots through the winter but when the weather gets hot, it’s all about THE DRESS!
In the middle of winter there I was staring at the most perfect babydoll; I was hooked… Owner, Ashley Hanosh, stocks this brick-walled treasure chest with dresses- and only dresses- from a select spread of established and up-and-coming international brands. Alice McCall, Antepodium, NY fave Judi Rosen, Hoss, Sonata Theory and another favorite of mine, Brasilian label NEON, are a few of the brands she’s hand-picked. As one of the few stores in the US to carry hard to find Japanese label, Tsumori Chisato, it’s clear Hanosh brings only the best to her customer. She considers nabbing the brand a great triumph for her budding store, keeping her ideal selections inline with her aesthetic- warm, simple, and totally comfortable.
Find the perfect dress for any occassion and grab some sassy handmade lingerie from London’s Buttress and Snatch. Browse candles and skin care products (even get your makeup done) and find amazing jewelry from designer Iosselliani. Stop in on a Thursday and get a special treat as Rosie, the store’s brow artist, does consultations all day from noon–8pm. Everything is in the details at this new boudoir-like space.
Dope dress, perfect eyebrows, flawless make-up– check, check, check!
