Nicknamed Queen Bee for a reason, Miss Katie Longmyer is no stranger to success. Now a prominent figure in the NYC nightlife scene, Katie started first by conquering D.C. and Baltimore. Back in '97, she cut her teeth promoting the now legendary parties such as Buzz and Fever. Once in New York, she was recruited by the #1 label in the country, Warner Bros Records. She quickly rose the ranks, and before long, her ideas were breaking industry conventions and laying the framework for a new business model. To showcase her talents as a fierce rainmaker and savvy consultant, Warner Bros created a new position for her as the Brand Partnerships Manager.
But there are some things in life that are done better as a free
agent. And being a pace-setter for NYC music, art and culture is one
of them. Answering her true calling, Katie left Warner Bros to run
Good Peoples full time.
When she's not scheming new brand platforms, activating regional
marketing campaigns, or managing a roster of cutting-edge downtown
artists, Katie is busy producing the best parties in the city. You
can catch her every Thursday at Porch Bar, or once a month at the
famous Korrupt parties in Chinatown.
Tuesday, February 16 : behind the scenes with Kareem Black
My dear friend, who also happens to be a famed photographer, Kareem Black is notorious for living life to the fullest. As one of his many partners-in-crime I’m happy to co-sign that reputation and try to keep up with him when I can. I often see Kareem whip out his little hand held camera and snap impromptu photos when I least expect it. I always thought this was some kind of continuation of his art into his life, and always wondered where they ended up (other than his huge dual desktop screens).
Well..he decided to share with the world. Check out a glimpse of the real life of one of the most inspiring people in my life…
