Every girl has had a curiosity with the occult at some point in their lives, perhaps because it romanticizes flirting with the dark side of things… Or maybe it was fueled by the beautiful garments and soft candle light? No matter, because now we can take our girlish fantasies of seances and spells to the streets with the lace collared blouses, velveteen cloaks, and silk dresses from the LA- based clothing line “Witches.”
Witches, was created by designer Lauren Alexander (also of LnA) and Gabby Applegate, who have been friends since childhood and have partnered up to design an exciting line for the Avant-garde circle. The entire line is comprised of black lace, velvet, silk, and spandex. The collection includes everything from floor length velvet cloaks to lace cocktail dresses with rope details. The goal has been to combine all of these style elements to create something that they feel has been missing in their closets. This collection truly embodies the idea of a modern couture witch.
